“Adulting” can feel overwhelming—especially when anxiety, relationship challenges, or major life transitions are in the mix. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I specialize in supporting young adults, college students, and LGBTQ+ individuals who are facing these exact struggles. Whether you are feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure of your next steps, you are not alone—and you do not have to figure it out by yourself. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all therapy or positioning myself as the expert with all the answers. Instead, I see our work together as a partnership—one where we explore your strengths, clarify your goals, and build a path toward the life you want to live. In our first few sessions, we will focus on building trust and identifying what you hope to gain from therapy. I offer a welcoming, non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. Together, we will create a personalized roadmap that honors your values, experiences, and aspirations. I am looking forward to meeting you!

Katie is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Adelphi University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Development from Boston University, where she focused on child and adolescent mental health. Katie approaches therapy in a warm, genuine, and down-to-earth way. She believes that feeling truly understood is at the center of meaningful change, and works to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. She values building strong, trusting relationships and meets each client where they are, recognizing that everyone’s experiences and needs are different. Her work is guided by a trauma-informed and developmentally focused lens, with an emphasis on understanding how past experiences shape the way we think, feel, and relate to others. She draws from psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches, helping clients both explore deeper patterns and develop practical tools to navigate everyday challenges. Katie has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults, and is especially interested in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, self-doubt, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She is passionate about helping clients build insight, feel more confident in themselves, and develop healthier ways of coping. Above all, Katie strives to create a space that feels real, supportive, and safe, where clients can take the time they need to understand themselves and grow.

Are you finding it difficult to cope with your overthinking, negative feelings, and anxious thoughts? Do your negative feelings associate with your appearance, self-worth, or accomplishments? Does it sound like “I’m not good enough, I will never succeed, I’ll always be alone, I hate the way I look, No one cares about me”? Do your anxious thoughts manifest in difficulty sleeping, working, or socializing? Do you feel you need a place for someone to hear you, see you, and validate your experience? Would you like to acquire coping skills for anxiety regarding your relationships, your career, or communication? I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to help adults overcome negative self-talk, life transitions, relationship issues, and imposter syndrome and achieve an increased understanding of feelings, emotions, relationships, communication, and self-worth. I aim to create a collaborative environment within our therapy sessions because I believe you, as the client, have the ability to understand yourself and your concerns and you may just need some assistance in building the tools to manage and overcome them. Together, we will figure out how to build a relationship that will support you in the way that you need.

I specialize in and have helped many people suffering with complex trauma, grief/ loss and relationship issues- all of which can manifest as anxiety and depression, among other paralyzing symptoms. I'll draw on my multi-modal training and diverse clinical experience to help provide relief to you. It does get better, and I can help guide you there. Specializing in trauma work, I am proud to have many years of experience in the LGBTQ communities and take pride in offering a non-judgmental, sex positive, affirmative space to talk about queer identities and sexualities. If you've ever felt "othered," be it by race, class, gender or sexuality, I welcome your experience and actively create a safe space for all parts of you to be heard. Many of my patients are college and students dealing with the unique and particular pressures of student life. It's my greatest honor and pleasure skilfully and thoughtfully listen and work to meet you where you are, as we embark on this journey of feeling better and growth, together.

My goal is to support clients in becoming the best version of themselves. I see therapy as a tool to support and motivate clients in taking control of their lives. I believe that therapy is truly for everyone- you do not need to have a major problem to start therapy. Therapy can be a place where we discuss the good things happening in your life! However, starting therapy is a vulnerable process. I am here to support your experiences and to provide you with the tools to better cope with situations. I focus on exploring clients' inner voices and beliefs that dictate how we interpret situations. I work with young adults and adults. I work mainly with issues around self worth, communication, anxiety, and life transitions. I have a background in education and empathize with young adults and adults striving for perfectionism. I also feel passionately about helping young adults feel empowered and find happiness and success in their careers and the corporate world. As a Jewish therapist, I bring a strong appreciation for how culture, identity, and personal values shape the way we move through the world. I aim to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully as yourself—whether you’re navigating school stress, relationships, family dynamics, or figuring out who you want to be in this next chapter of your life.

Therapy can deepen your capacity for love, trust, and connection — with yourself and with others. I’ve seen it ease depression, anxiety, and shame; strengthen self-esteem; and help people become more resilient during life’s ups and downs. Most of all, it can bring forward a truer, more authentic self. Therapy is a collaborative process. You speak, and I listen closely — for what’s said and what lies beneath the surface — helping you see what may be getting in the way of a more fulfilling life. As Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I’ve found that to be true. Patients find it helpful to explore childhood, memories that bubble up, dreams, feelings, fears, wishes — whatever arises. Our aim is an understanding of your inner world that leads to meaningful action & choice. With couples, I help you listen more clearly & break entrenched patterns. Everyone longs to be seen and heard & I'll help you arrive at that place. As a therapist and writer, I’m inspired to help each patient take hold of their narrative — understanding where they’ve come from & where they’d like to go. As we get to know one another, I tailor my style to your personality and needs. Your feedback is always encouraged. Email me to schedule a consultation & see if we’re a good fit. As a therapist, I provide evidence-based psychotherapy (CBT and ACT) to women and young adults experiencing a range of symptoms and life stressors. My specialties include depression, anxiety, stress and coping skills, dating and relationships, self-esteem, meditation/mindfulness, and ADHD. My goal is to help people understand why they feel and act the way they do, while helping them navigate this difficult world with compassion, kindness, and grace. It was my own journey of mindfulness and self-discovery that led me to pursue a career as a psychotherapist. Prior to receiving my Master of Social Work from NYU, I was working in international fashion sales. When not doing the work I love, you can find me at a meditation retreat, a yoga class, or cooking up (mostly) vegan treats!

We are a team of therapists who work with students and young adults navigating stress, identity, and the feeling of having to hold everything together. Many of the students we support are balancing different expectations from family, culture, and their own goals. Some feel caught between different worlds, while others find themselves overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling disconnected from who they are. As a team, we are especially attuned to the experiences of students from multicultural, international, and Asian or Asian American backgrounds. We understand how identity, family dynamics, and expectations can shape the way you move through the world. In this Kind Space, your voice is valued, your story is honored, and every part of you is welcomed. Together, we work to uncover what matters most, address challenges in a way that feels authentic, and build strategies that help you feel grounded, empowered, and more connected to yourself.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in midtown Manhattan. When I decided to go back to school for a master’s degree, I chose social work because I felt strongly about its foundational belief that focus should be on both a person and their environment. During graduate school at Fordham University I saw many appealing paths I could continue on after graduation. While both macro and micro levels of practice are extremely important, I felt best suited for work with individuals on a deeper level. I wanted to further my education and went on to complete the four-year postgraduate training program in Adult Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy from The National Institute for the Psychotherapies. Prior to private practice I worked with a diverse population in various clinics throughout New York City. In addition to private practice I have been guest faculty at the Training Institute for Mental Health and taught a course on Eating Disorders. In March 2020, I completed a post master’s program in Spirituality and Social Work at New York University.
