Therapists for college students near 27705
Ceara Cuthbertson
In the beginning, clients typically tell me they can't stop thinking about food. They’re finding a large part of their day is dedicated to their next meal. They miss out on time with loved ones because the concern of what they will “be able” to eat is too strong. A lot of my clients find themselves in a dieting spiral. They “do good” for a while, and then they binge later, leading to feelings of shame and guilt. Most have heard confusing things about bodies throughout their lives. After some hard work and difficult conversations, these clients get their lives back. They stop thinking about food as much, they see their bodies as neutral, and they take back control of their lives. The time they used to spend thinking about food and exercise is replaced with meaningful memories with friends and family. My style of therapy involves a lot of humor, open mindedness, focusing on strengths, and providing feedback. You can expect a listening ear, a confidential space, and a therapist who wants to see you develop into the best possible version of yourself. I am currently seeing clients in NC(in person or virtual) and OH (virtually) Questions? Call or email for a free consultation!

Many times, overwhelming feelings can pull you away from living your best life and living to your potential. Hello, I am Alexann Masiko-Meyer, I am an eclectic counselor that would be filled with gratitude to support you. I am an LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor) providing services in North Carolina, New Jersey, Canada, England, United Arab Emirates, Japan, China, New Zealand.... and growing Lets get back to living life unapologetically! However, in full disclosure, I don't take myself too seriously, and I wholeheartedly feel that being a bit goofy, and being quirky, and maybe a bid different is okay! Many times, it is more than ok, and what makes us more of an individual, helps on the journey to wellness, being unapologetically yourself, putting a laugh out there to the universe and finding the good things in life along the way. Humor and levity may be evident and incorporated into the therapeutic process. I feel that everyone should have the ability to access mental wellness support and counseling. As a military spouse, and moving all over the country for 18 years, allthewhile working in the helping profession, I have grown to recognize the cultural apprehension, inability to access and equity issues that surround access to counseling. Summer Sessions Counseling is founded on the belief that mental wellness support should be accessible by everyone without stigma, physical access and transportation barriers, without requiring a diagnosis, to access one's best self. What is therapy like? What can I expect from my first session? The first session is typically a review of information you supplied on your intake form and address concerns that you may have. Jessica Aycock LCSW
A lot of people say they knew at a young age they would be a therapist, but that wasn’t me. I grew up in a military family and thought I would continue that tradition and be a stay-at-home mom. Instead, I found myself in a journalism career and a marriage I didn’t like. Starting over after 30, I chose to return to school and pursue a degree in social work. Since then, I’ve worked with the military, in inpatient facilities, and in outpatient care. I love working with women who find themselves “outside the box” when it comes to societal expectations (child-free/childless, unmarried, or just a-plain-ol’ rebel). I love to focus on resiliency, self-improvement/self-esteem, personal growth, and even a bit of spirituality (if that's your thing). I'm a very laid-back, nontraditional therapist. I believe you are the expert in your own life and, sometimes, we just need some guidance or permission to do the things we know we need to do. I don't assign homework cause, frankly, I wouldn't do it if I were in your shoes, but I will suggest some tasks or actions that may be something to focus on between sessions. I also expect clients to show up with a discussion topic or something to start us off with; again, the time is yours to use as you feel best. I have very eclectic interests. Two things that are very important to me are spirituality and non-traditional relationships. I feel both have their own challenges and prejudices to overcome. I'm always looking for ways to include and incorporate my client's spiritual beliefs (if they choose to share) into sessions and help them build a strong foundation. Nontraditional relationships (including kink dynamics) can be a challenge to bring to therapy as there's often a perceived level of judgment—not here! I celebrate however your relationship looks and work to help you create the most nurturing and healthy relationship however that looks. One of my core values is curiosity, so I love it when I get to learn a little something from my clients. Having grown up in a military family that moved every three years like clockwork, learning about people and cultures has been a huge part of my life. I encourage my clients to practice showing and embodying their authenticity with me so they may go out into the world more confidently. I believe we all have something beautiful to share and learn from each other and I encourage those I work with to explore that on a deeper level.

Hey there! I provide virtual therapy for adults navigating OCD, ADHD, anxiety, and depressive symptoms - many of whom are unpacking intimacy, identity, and religious trauma. My approach is affirming, and grounded in empowerment. I'm LGBTQ+ friendly and deeply anti-judgment. I meet you where you are, not where you think you should be. Together, we challenge shame and rigid beliefs while building insight, autonomy, and self trust so life can feel more authentic and connected. Whether you are seeking relief from emotional distress, healing from past experiences, or finding a deeper connection with your authentic self, I am dedicated to come alongside you on your journey toward growth and well-being. Sessions are collaborative, gentle, and focused on both symptom relief and deeper insight. Clients often describe our work as calming, clarifying, and real. My goal is to offer a therapeutic space where you feel safe to show up fully, without judgment, and explore what healing looks like for you. Therapy isn’t about 'fixing' you. It’s about supporting the version of you that’s already trying to grow.
