Supporting, encouraging, and comforting others has been an integral part of my journey, leading me on a path to a rich and rewarding career as a clinical social worker. I am passionate about supporting individuals to reach their behavioral health, relational and spiritual goals! I have a special interest in working with women who are seeking support for depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, and grief (relationships, miscarriage, death of a loved one), low self-esteem, parenting, establishing healthy boundaries, spiritual issues, and relationships. My approach is strengths-based, holistic, and collaborative. While we may explore your past experiences, we won't stay there. Our focus will be on your present and future. Our work together will include problem-solving, strategic planning, developing healthy coping skills, and replacing unhelpful thinking patterns. I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. Octave is a mental health practice providing high-quality care covered by multiple insurances. Evernorth Behavioral Care Group is a behavioral health provider group in-network with Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth. For my availability, please reach out to Octave’s team by emailing or calling.

I have over a decade of experience providing crisis counseling and suicide prevention to individuals in distress and immediate need of assistance. My expertise extends across various topics, including trauma, substance use, anxiety and mood disorders, as well as severe and persistent mental illnesses. While I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I also recognize the significant impact of the ecological model—considering individual, family, organizational, community, and societal factors on mental health and wellbeing. I firmly believe that change occurs through addressing faulty or unhelpful thought patterns, challenging learned behaviors, and acquiring improved coping mechanisms. Throughout our sessions, my mission is to establish an authentic rapport and create a nurturing space for clients, meeting them at their current point in their journey. I assist clients in identifying and challenging negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, fostering a profound catalyst for lasting change by illuminating paths toward self-discovery, resilience, and growth I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. Octave is a mental health practice providing high-quality care covered by multiple insurances. ANMH's services are 100% free, every session, every time! ACTNow for Mental health (ANMH) is a non-profit (501(c)(3)) organization dedicated to expanding access to mental health services and support, while fighting mental & behavioral health stigma for all young adults (ages 17-32). ANMH focuses on communities that have been historically underserved by the health system including LGBTQIA+ and POC populations, people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, and people who are uninsured or underinsured. ACTNow for Mental Health (ANMH) prides itself on being a teaching organization that utilizes and trains Master's level graduate students in various therapy treatments including CBT, DBT, ACT, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic, Art Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care. Many of our therapists at ANMH are Master's level graduate students from various accredited colleges and universities, and though they are with ANMH for a limited time, the services they provide are just as robust and comprehensive as licensed therapists. In fact, a study from 2013 found that the clients of student therapists improved just as significantly as clients of licensed professionals while in treatment for anxiety, depression and other mental disorders. Our student therapists have historically been with ANMH from August to May, allowing our clients to access services for an average of 36 weeks! On occasion, our student therapists will be available for less time, however, it is our policy that all new potential clients are informed of this before they begin services so they may make an informed decision on whether they would like to begin services or wait for a new cohort of interns with greater availability. To access services, please visit our website and fill out an intake form!

Welcome. I'm Andrea Jackson, LICSW, LCSW, PMH-C, a virtual therapist supporting college students and young adults across New York, Washington, DC, Virginia, Vermont, and Utah. The college years and early stages of adulthood can be exciting, but they can also bring stress, anxiety, self-doubt, loneliness, relationship challenges, academic pressure, and uncertainty about the future. You may feel overwhelmed by expectations, struggle with perfectionism, or find yourself questioning who you are and where you're headed. Therapy can provide a space to slow down, reflect, and develop tools to navigate these challenges with greater confidence. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we'll explore what is contributing to your distress, build practical coping strategies, strengthen self-awareness, and identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I draw from evidence-based approaches to help clients manage anxiety, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change. As a Black woman therapist and first-generation college graduate, I understand some of the unique challenges that can arise when balancing academic goals, family expectations, cultural identity, and personal growth. I strive to provide culturally responsive, affirming care where you feel respected, supported, and able to show up as your authentic self. Whether you're adjusting to college, preparing for graduation, navigating a career transition, managing a difficult relationship, coping with grief, or simply trying to find your footing, you don't have to figure it all out alone. I would be honored to support you in building a life that feels more balanced, connected, and aligned with your values.
